Favourite Summer Nail Polishes

Summer is finally here! There are so many things I love about the warmest season of the year, but all of the bright colours and new trends are fun and get your imagination going. I thought I'd share some of my favourite summer nail polishes with you guys. Feel free to tell me what your favourite colours or trends are for summer 2013 in the comments below:)

(Left to right: Revlon multicare base + top coat, Rimmel 60 seconds in 270 "shocker", OPI matte nail polish in "alpine snow", Crickets nail polish, Sally Hansen Xtreme wear nail polish in 150 "sun kissed", ImPress stick on manicures in "estatic cling".

I try to use a nail polish base every time I apply a bright coloured lacquer, so my nails don't end up yellow or blue. Revlon's multicare base + top coat does the trick for me, it dries fast and in thin layers. It is my nail polish bin essential and I would recommend it to anyone:) Next up is Rimmel's 60 seconds in 270 "shocker". This nail polish is just really fun, and very Barbie. It's a hot pink with a blue undertone and a metallic sheen. It also dries quickly, and is opaque with one coat. White looks great against tan skin, so why stop at clothing? OPI's matte nail polish in "alpine snow" is a classic with a matte twist. I often have trouble getting this to turn out nicely though, as it is a bit gooey and dries so fast it's hard to work with. The next nail polish I have is by Crickets. I picked this up at a liquidation store a couple of years ago and was pleasantly surprised. It's a royal blue glitter polish and can be worn over another colour or by itself. Not bad for the 0.99$ I probably spent on it! You may have heard others talk about Sally Hansen's Xtreme wear nail polish in 150 "sun kissed" as it was a quite popular shade in last years collection. When I bought it, I was looking for a nice coral, not what I got. "sun kissed" is very orange, almost a pumpkin-y orange. I find pairing it with a pink-coral colour looks very bright and girly. Last but not least, I have the ImPress stick on manicures in "estatic cling". Many people have been raving about these nails and I wanted to know what all the hype was about. So I grabbed a pair and finally understood why everyone loves them. The nails don't harm your natural nails at all, yet stay put better than any other adhesive nails I've ever tried. My only complaint here was that I bought the wrong size, but that's my bad.

Until next time,

Abby
